tekranowfindr is committed to making this website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. This statement explains our approach to accessibility, the standard we aim to meet, known limitations, and how to contact us if you encounter a problem.
1. Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG 2.1 AA is the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility and is referenced in the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882), which applies in Ireland. We take a practical approach to accessibility: every feature on this site is built with keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and colour contrast in mind from the outset.
2. Technical measures taken
The following measures are applied across this site:
- Semantic HTML: Headings, landmarks, lists, tables and form elements use appropriate HTML elements and ARIA roles where needed.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — navigation, accordion panels, cookie controls, form fields, buttons — are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
- Focus management: Visible focus indicators are present on all interactive elements. Focus is managed programmatically when modal dialogs (such as the cookie preferences panel) are opened and closed.
- Skip link: A skip-to-content link is available at the top of every page to allow keyboard and screen reader users to bypass repeated navigation.
- Colour contrast: Text and background colour combinations are chosen to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
- Reduced motion: Animations and transitions are suppressed for users who have set a preference for reduced motion via their operating system.
- Responsive design: The site is usable at any viewport width, including at 320 CSS pixels (the minimum WCAG 2.1 requirement) and when text is enlarged to 200% via browser zoom.
- Form accessibility: All form fields have visible labels, error messages are associated with their respective fields via
aria-describedby, and errors are announced to screen readers viaaria-liveregions. - Tables: Data tables include column headers with
scopeattributes and descriptivearia-labelattributes. - Language: The page language is declared on every page (
lang="en-IE").
3. Known limitations
We are not aware of any significant accessibility barriers on this site at the time of writing. However, we have not yet commissioned a formal third-party audit against WCAG 2.1 AA. If you encounter a problem, please tell us using the contact details below and we will investigate and address it as a priority.
4. Browser and assistive technology compatibility
This site is designed to work with current versions of the following browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge. It is designed to work with screen readers including NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), and VoiceOver (macOS and iOS). We do not test with every possible combination of browser and assistive technology, but we apply standards that are known to produce compatible results across these environments.
5. Content that may require additional access
This site does not currently include any PDFs, downloadable documents, audio content, or video content. If any such content is added in future, we will ensure it meets accessibility requirements before publication — PDFs will be tagged and readable by screen readers; audio and video content will include captions or transcripts.
6. Feedback and contact
If you experience an accessibility barrier on this site — a page that is not navigable by keyboard, content that is not readable by a screen reader, or any other issue — please tell us. We take accessibility reports seriously and will respond within five working days.
To report an issue, use the contact form or write to us at:
tekranowfindr Unit 14, Kylemore Park NorthBallyfermot, Dublin 10
D10 W7C4, Ireland
Please describe the page you were on, the assistive technology or browser you were using, and the problem you encountered. The more detail you provide, the faster we can identify and fix the issue.
7. Enforcement
If you have reported an accessibility issue and you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the relevant enforcement authority. For public sector bodies in Ireland, the enforcement body is the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications. For private sector websites, the European Accessibility Act framework is being transposed into Irish law; once in force, an appropriate enforcement body will be designated. The Citizens Information Board can provide further guidance on your rights.
8. Review of this statement
We review this statement annually and update it whenever a significant change is made to the site. If a formal accessibility audit is commissioned, the results and any remediation actions will be reflected here.
